Programs


Liberty Point’s programs are designed to meet the needs of adolescent males, ages 13-21, who are experiencing behavioral, psychiatric and educational difficulties. Our programs are specifically designed for lower functioning youth with neurodevelopmental disorders like intellectual disabilities and autism.

Secure Psychiatric Residential Treatment

  • Males, ages 13 – 18
  • 42 beds, units are locked
  • 3 distinct units separated by age and level of functioning
  • 1:4 staff/patient ratio during the day; 1:6 staff/patient ratio at night
  • Residents attend Liberty Point Academy year-round
  • Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, ABA, and Psycho-Educational Groups
  • Individual, Group and Family Therapy

Community Based Residential Treatment

  • Males, ages 13-21
  • 14 beds located within 2 community based settings
  • 1:4 staff/patient ratio during the day; 1:6 staff/patient ratio at night
  • Residents attend school or are involved in vocational programs at Liberty Point Academy or in the community as directed by the LEA and IEP team
  • Individual, Group and Family Therapy
  • Highly individualized treatment with emphasis on interventions and activities designed to help achieve competence with adaptive functioning and independent living skills

Assessment and Diagnostic Program

  • Males, ages 13-21
  • Short term, anticipated stay of 45-90 days
  • A wide variety of skilled behavioral health and medical clinicians are available offering a full battery of evaluations including educational, psychological and psychosexual testing
  • Designed to meet the needs of each individual and offer recommendations for a full continuum of services and placement option

Liberty Point Academy

  • Year-round licensed and accredited special education program
  • Licensed to serve Autism, ID, ED, SLD, MD, OHI, and Speech or Language Impairment
  • Individually targeted instruction utilizing a number of tools and assessments including Odysseyware, a web-based, self-paced curriculum, Chrome Books, Smart Boards
  • Full vocational workshop/strong vocational development focus
  • Greenhouse and large outdoor area for gardening
  • Large Teaching Kitchen
  • Teachers are Special Education certified, assisted by paraprofessional teacher aids
