Liberty Point Becomes TRICARE® Approved!
Liberty Point Behavioral Healthcare is honored to serve Military Families as a TRICARE® provider of residential services. We are now able to provide comprehensive residential treatment for military connected young men with neurodevelopmental conditions like intellectual disabilities and autism that are further complicated by complex emotional, behavioral and psychiatric conditions. In addition to serving Military Families from Virginia, we are able to serve children of active duty and retired military families from across the United States and overseas. If geographical distance precludes in-person therapy sessions or visitation, special arrangements can be made. Tele-health services are available at Liberty Point and we can also conduct therapy sessions by phone. Additionally, we will work closely with the therapist in the family’s home community to provide a high level of continuity before, during and after treatment at Liberty Point.
ABA Services and Our Newly Credentialed Board Certified Behavior Analyst
Liberty Point is proud to announce that our Clinical Director, Courtnay Davis, LPC, recently became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Liberty Point has used applied behavioral analysis (ABA) techniques for many years but now, under Courtnay’s leadership and supervision, our staff will have the opportunity to become more proficient and receive on-going ABA training without having to leave the grounds. Congratulations, Courtnay!
Telehealth Services Will Help Families, Community Partners and Our Residents Connect More Frequently
Liberty Point is now offering tele-health services! We have invested in tele-health services because we recognize that involvement with professionals from the home community and family engagement in a child’s treatment is critical, and that treatment outcomes improve when families are involved throughout their child’s care. While face to face meetings and family therapy are preferred, we understand that involved parties are not always available to attend meetings in person. Both tele-health and telephonic therapy and visits are widely used at Liberty Point.
A New Community Based Residential Program Now Open and Accepting Applications!
Liberty Point is happy to announce the expansion of our community based residential services. “Now we are able to offer a transition for our older residents as they prepare for independent living” said Mike Hamilton, Director of Community Services. Mike was the former Program Director at Liberty Point and will now oversee both of Liberty Point’s community based residential programs and future expansion. With over 3,000 square feet of space indoors, almost 2 acres of land, a swimming pool and basketball court, this program will serve males, ages 16-21, with co-occurring psychiatric and neurodevelopmental disorders. For more information, call our Admissions Department at 540-213-0450, extension 146.
